Delta Loses $5 Billion In 3rd Quarter, May Soon Furlough 1,700 Pilots

With summer vacation travel weaker than expected and business travel a fraction of what it used to be, the losses continue to mount at Delta Air Lines. Delta, the nation’s second largest airline by the number of passengers flown last year, reports losing $5.4 billion in the third quarter of this year, as the travel industry continues to suffer from low demand due to the coronavirus pandemic.
