Recently, popular CBD manufacturer Diamond CBD, maker of consumer brands such as Relax CBD Gummies and CBD Oil Biotech Creams and Topicals sought to answer the age-old question “What’s America’s Favorite Donut Shop?” While it may not have anything to do with CBD directly, it’s a fun way to pass the time. And these days, more people could use a little bit of fun in their lives.
The company, which employees people from across the country, all of whom are coffee enthusiasts who enjoy a delicious donut with their morning cup of joe according to a statment, began a spirited debate over who produces the best circular-shaped pastry throughout the US. To answer this question as best they could, Diamond took to Google Trends to see which donut shops receive the most love in every state.
“At first, our team of donut experts thought we could go on a donut tour of the United States,” the company wrote in a recent blog post. “Unfortunately for us (but fortunately for our waistlines), that proved to be not feasible. So, instead, we did the next best thing. We went to Google Trends to check out the most famous donut shops’ popularity across the country. We scoured the earth for the best of the best, coming up with a list of the top donut shops across America.”
Diamond scoured the earth for the best of the best, narrowing the list down to a final seven that included Daylight Donuts, Dunkin Donuts, Honey Dew Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Shipley Do-Nuts, Tim Hortons, and Top Pot Donuts. According to their blog, “[they] understand there are so many wonderful mom and pop donut shops across America.” As the post continued Diamond noted that they “love and support all of our small businesses, especially in these times. But this is simply a list of the most popular [donut shops], according to Google Trends.”
The results were surprising (and mouth-watering too!). Northeastern states prefer Dunkin Donuts, while the middle of the country loves Daylight Donuts. There are a few states that go their own way too, such as Rhode Island, which prefers Honey Dew Donuts, Texas with Shipley Do-Nuts, and Washington State with Top-Pot Donuts.
But the number one donut shop in America, according to Diamond CBD’s research on Google Trends, well, that’s Krispy Kreme.
“But tried and true across the rest of the country, coming in at number one in 25 states including Alaska and Hawaii is none other than Krispy Kreme,” Diamond CBD wrote in a blog post. “Can you picture it now? Those piping hot, sweet, cake-filled glazed donuts! We’re drooling like Homer Simpson just thinking about them. Krispy Kreme has been an American staple probably as long as there have been donuts themselves, so it’s no wonder that people love them so much.”
And as for America’s favorite donut, that was even more surprising. While Diamond thought most states would prefer glazed or even chocolate, donut holes took the top spot based on Google Trends results. Whether they’re called munchkins, Timbits, or plain old donut holes, America loves those delicious little pastries more than anything else.
“That’s right, more than glazed or jelly or even Boston creme America; you prefer to snack on those little holes of donut perfection,” they noted. “Again, we ran the numbers through Google trends, had our best team of scientists crunch the data, and ran some of the most complicated mathematical formulas available to find that more states in the union prefer donut holes to any other type of donut.”
A spokesperson for Diamond CBD praised all of the amazing donut shops across the country.
“We know there’s so many great local donut shops across the country, including small businesses that work so hard every day, but we thought it would be fun to see what people are searching for on a national level,” noted Diamond CBD in a statement. “What we found is that America loves its donuts, no matter where they come from. Every single state has a favorite donut shop.”
Whether this settles the debate or sparks further conversation remains to be seen. For now, it’s made the team at Diamond appreciate the diversity of thought and hard work that goes into keeping these businesses running across the country.
